OHIO - The Miami University Mobile Health Unit is the centre piece of an innovative project aimed at promoting health awareness and disease prevention among students on college campuses across the United States. The health unit also provides clinic services such as influenza vaccinations, HIV antibody testing and counseling, and blood glucose screening. As well, the program included the development of resource materials, and the training and hiring of peer educators. The project was made possible thanks to funding from The Ford Foundation and through a partnership with Armor Mobile Systems, an Ohio mobile unit manufacturer. The following video features Project Director, Dr. Reginald Fennell of Miami University with the mobile health unit during a regional tour of colleges and universities in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
